Turnout bearers, or switch bearers, constitute an integral part of our production process.
Our turnout bearers, produced in our plant, are extremely versatile and satisfy every design requirement and switch point typology.
We offer a wide range of turnout bearers, which find their application in conventional or high-speed railway lines.
Our turnout bearers can be equipped with a USP (Under Sleeper Pad), an innovative solution positioned on the lower surface of the sleeper in contact with the ballast to:
- Dampen the friction between the concrete and the ballast, reducing the formation of fine dust.
- Improve the load distribution to which the sleeper is subjected.
- Reduce tamping and ballast replacement operations.
The Under Sleeper Pad allows a significant increase in the life cycle of the ballast.
WEGH Group also produces prestressed reinforced vibrated concrete turnout bearers with third supply rail and sleepers for tramway switches.
